SPIRAL DANCE around the Tree-Sits to Save the Oaks in Berkeley: Saturday, Jan. 6 starting at 2 pm
Brave and wily activists climbed several grandmother oak trees at Memorial Stadium on UC Berkeley property one month ago on December 2. Tree-sitters and support people have been at this beautiful oak grove 24 hours a day since, adding another dimension to the campaign to save the oaks from university chain saws and development plans. To celebrate the one month anniversary of the tree-sits through the cold and the rain, and to celebrate the oaks, we will gather on Saturday, Jan 6 to bring our power together, to invoke magic, and to stand with Mother Earth, who brought her voice to the oaks debate with the recent flurry of earthquakes near the site.
There are several lawsuits filed; an injunction hearing is scheduled in Oakland Superior court (600 Washington St.) Jan. 11.
COME AND DANCE WITH THE OAKS !
LOCATION:
The oak grove is just below Memorial Stadium on Piedmont Avenue, just north of Bancroft Ave. and the International House.
