Even More - DIY Last Night Parade Brings Community Together In the Streets
Photo: The Great Morgani, Red Light and Ping Pong Ball Edition
After months of "unplanning," the Last Night DIY Parade and Celebration took center stage on Pacific Avenue in Santa Cruz on December 31st, 2006. After the miserable year that was 2006, the event was a delightful counterpoint -- a truly joyful, creative and inspiring expression of community and the First Amendment.
This is the last set of pictures from New Year's Eve.
Share your favorite parts of the parade by posting a comment, story, picture or audio about Last Night DIY.
No. It's just the raucus Trash Orchestra approaching.
Check out the recorder player in the lampshade, stage left.
That's a good reminder -- take some time to sign a petition that might actually get results. http://www.aiusa.org
2006. A bad year for wine, a bad year for news.
Now that's "Independent Media!"
Kids, clowns, grannies and dogs kickin' it on Pacific Avenue.
This guy was dressed up like the stereotype of a Santa Cruz hippie, but from the smell of it, the fatty wasn't real.
Now an endangered species at UCSC!
The celebration wasn't really over. Just the parade.
