Police Assault TV News Crew Arrest Protesters On Golden Gate Bridge
Just saw a report on Ch 7 News that aside from arresting protesters (many war veterans) for trying to walk across the bridge, (while arresting nonprotesters), the Golden Gate Bridge Police also assaulted a Channel 7 News cameraman pushing his camera back into his face and leaving it bloody. The police at the scene told the Ch 7 crew that the bridge is private property (something contradicted by the police's spokesperson when Ch 7 called) and the police officer who assaulted the cameraman covered his badge after the incident and refused to identify himself.

Members of the antiwar group CODEPINK were prevented from marching on the Golden Gate Bridge after authorities closed the eastbound pedestrian walkway to traffic shortly after noon today, a spokeswoman with the bridge reported today.
According to Mary Currie of the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District, the eastbound pedestrian walkway was closed at 12:17 p.m. She said the members of CODEPINK did not have an expressive activity permit that would have allowed them to march across the bridge.
The permits are issued with specific requirements as to the time, manner and duration of a particular event, Currie said. In general, such permits are issued to individuals or groups during early-morning hours on the weekends or during non-commute hours during the week.

This is ridiculous. Its an IMC cutting and pasting from mainstream media about a local event. Who was there? This was local. Lets hear from YOU.
I'm sure people who were there will post pictures when they get back but for now it takes a bit longer for some people to process their pictures than it did for the corporate media to report that one of their own cameramen was assaulted.
