Acclaimed filmmaker, writer and researcher Saul Landau, who produced his first documentary on Fidel Castro in 1969, will report back about his latest trip to Cuba with Gore Vidal, and about what's happening in Cuba – as well as throughout Latin America -- in a live interview with Karen Lee Wald at La Pena Cultural Center in Berkeley (3105 Shattuck Ave.) on Saturday, Jan. 6 at 7:30 pm. Landau will show clips of his first Fidel documentary as well as other footage. The free-ranging interview will cover everything from Landau's early experience with Fidel during that first decade of revolution to what is happening today in Cuba, nearly 40 years later, with the guerrilla leader who became president now in declining health. The audience will be asked to submit their own questions in case we miss anything :) (Doors open at 7 pm; sliding scale donations of $7-$10 are requested as benefit for Casa Cuba Resource Center).
