12/4 STOP AIPAC PROTEST
Photos of a protest outside AIPAC's (American Isreal Public Affair's Committee) annual dinner in the Bay Area. Bay Area activists come out to oppose occupation and miltaristic policies and to support international struggles for justice & human rights.
Every year, AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) holds its annual dinner in the Bay Area. AIPAC supports Israel's policies of militarism, occupation, and disregard for human rights. AIPAC also helped convince Congress to oppose a quick ceasefire in Lebanon, and is currently lobbying in support of a confrontational U.S. approach towards Iran. Members of various groups including Break the Siege, ISM (International Solidarity Movement) and JVP (Jewish Voice for Peace) gathered at this year's AIPAC meeting in Oakland to oppose these racist, militaristic policies and support international struggles for justice.

Some of the photos failed to upload correctly so I just hid them. Not sure what was wrong with them since the ones that are up uploaded correctly. You may want to retry uploading all your photos (as a new post and then I can hide this one) but first check that the ones that failed look ok on your machine since it could either be some sort of issue with Indybay or it could be that the photos got messed up before they were uploaded.
Doesn't AIPAC support a two state solution, like the majority of Americans?
There are nearly a quarter million Bay area Muslims.
Do they ever appear at these events?
The photos look like mostly aged white folk- both in Sac and in Oakland

...there were alll kinds of other people, including a lot of Jews. I think that having people of Jewish ancestry there is esepcially important because it shows taht AIPAc and the other Zionists in America don't represent all the Jews in the U.S.
My partner is Muslim. He is a green card holder and would never attend an event like this because of fear he would be placed on a list and receive more hastle from than the government than he already receives.
