Puck Lo Beef with Broccoli: A film about the World Trade Organization protests in
December 2005, by Puck Lo and Handle Kung (60 minutes)
Wednesday, December 20 7:30
One year ago, a delegation of Asian Pacific Islanders from North America met Hong Kong organizers, garment workers, Korean farmers, trade unionists and others during a turbulent week of mass mobilization in Hong Kong that shut down the city during the World Trade Organization 6th Ministerial meeting. The Hong Kong WTO protests were one site of many in the ongoing struggle to build meaningful, accountable relationships between international movements, to link local organizing to global uprisings that can and will topple neoliberalism. Join filmmaker Puck Lo for a viewing of the fiolm and discussion of this example of growing resistance in the face of repression and exploitation.
