while the Bush Regime gears up to attack Iran,
we still need to STOP THE CURRENT WAR AND OCCUPATION! and BRING THE TROOPS BACK HOME NOW! EVERY FRIDAY EVENING (yes, every Friday!) in Santa Cruz we each have the opportunity to take an hour out and Stand Up and Speak Out for Peace! on Friday, November 17th and 24th, please join us for the: Friday Evening Family Vigil for Peace from 5:00-6:00PM at the Town Clock Park in Santa Cruz, corner of Water and North Pacific, across from the main post office lots of extra signs, banners, and flags available! hosted by Families Against War, Code Pink SC, Women in Black SC, Women's International League for Peace and Freedom of SC, Veteran's for Peace SC, the Buddhist Peace Fellowship of SC, Pax Christi, the Santa Cruz Chapter of the Society of Friends (Quakers), and United Methodists for Peace "We have assumed the name of peacemaker, but we have been, by and large, unwilling to pay any significant price. And because we want peace with half a heart and half a life and will, the war, of course, continues, because the waging of war, by its nature, is total, but the waging of peace, by our own cowardice, is partial..... We cry peace and cry peace and there is not peace. There is no peace because the making of peace is at least as costly as the making of war, at least as exigent, at least as disruptive, at least as liable to bring disgrace, prison and death in its wake." Daniel Berrigan, No Bars to Manhood, 1970 "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. I will not stand idly by when I see an unjust war taking place." Martin Luther King, Jr. |
