Directions and Parking:

From 280: Take the Page Mill exit onto Page Mill Rd towards Palo Alto. Turn left on Junipero Serra. Turn right on Campus Drive East. Turn left at the first stop sign, Mayfield Ave. Mayfield Ave. curves left around a corner. Turn right into Tresidder Parking Lot. Pay for parking machines located here. From parking lot, walk past the Campus Bookstore. Once you reach the Clocktower, turn left (Escondido Mall) and walk along the Main Quad to the building which is at the far west corner of the quad. The entrance to Room 105 is on the ground level, along the archway. (Campus map available here: http://campus-map.stanford.edu/index.cfm?ID=01-320).

From 101: Take the Embarcadero Rd exit and follow signs to Stanford. Continue straight on Embarcadero (be in the left lane, the road splits past El Camino) until Campus Drive. Turn left. After several stop signs, turn right on Mayfield Avenue. Follow the road as it curves left. Turn right into Tresidder Parking Lot. Pay for parking machines located here. Following walking instructions in the previous paragraph.

An International Crisis Group expert on African Affairs, John will talk about his most recent trip to Western Sudan, and about new measures that policymakers and ordinary citizens can take to help get an effective civilian protection force into Darfur.
