San Francisco did NOT have a chance to bid for the Summer Olympics 2016

by Francisco Da Costa
I was present when all of a sudden a meeting was called at a Middle school by Hunters Point in the shadow of the Candlestick Park Stadium to annouce that San Francisco was preparing and had a good chance of being chosen to hold the Summer Olympic 2016. That was 3 or 4 weeks ago. The fact was this idea was a BIG LIE. How can anyone ever propose to have an Olympic Village at Hunters Point - that is a Superfund Site. The most toxic soil is found here - much of it radiological.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) knows the real truth - there was no way San Francisco could hold a sound Summer Olympics be it 2016 or any in or around Hunters Point.

We lack the transportation and more the first class facilties.

It was a LIE that we told the IOC that we could build an Olympic Village at Hunters Point. This lie was pushed over by Lennar BVHP LLC. The IOC did receive a letter that the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard was very polluted.

The IOC verified the facts and found the facts to be true. Shame on Lennar and the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency (SFRA) for pushing to hold the Summer Olympics 2016.

One has just to read the Final Historical Radiological Report linked to Parcels A, B, C, D, E, and F that is the Bay. T he report is available at any San Francisco Library - the Main Library on Grove Street has the copy.

Lennar the developer tried to push the 49ers into believing that it could deliver - and that may be true as far as Lennar is considered - but, not as far as Accoutability and Transparency are made part of the equation.

Dr. York is no fool. He is and was fully aware about liability and other issues that are linked with Hunters Point and radiological toxicity.

Building any stadium or facilites surrounded by pollution of the worst order - most of it radiological in nature does not bode well for San Francisco and San Franciscans.

However,Diane Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi, Gavin Newsom, Laurence Pelosi, Jessie Blout, Michael Cohen, Sophie Maxwell, and a host of Blacks mostly sell outs like Willie B. Kennedy, Doris Vincent, Aurelious Walker, Calvin Jones, and so on could not care less about the adverse impacts from the radiological elements and harm done to innocent human beings.

We know now for sure that San Francisco will NOT be considered for the Summer Olympics 2016. That is good on behalf on all the innocent people that could have be exposed had the authorities agreed to put them all in harms way in the vacinity of the toxic Shipyard at Hunters Point.

In the mean time other entities are planning to cap Parcel E and compare this toxic site to Crissy Field.

Led by entities like Arc Ecology and one Saul Bloom aka David Saleman - the plans are afloat to fool San Franciscans. When will San Francisco wake up?

Where are the many Environmentalists?

Where are our leaders that are educated on issues?

What is a Superfund Site and why do we think we can clean a site that has been so polluted over night?

The Olympics stand for peace and things holistic!
