Communities of Opportunity in the Oakdale Area - a gimmick

by Francisco Da Costa
Dwayne Jones the former Director of the Mayor Office of Community Development has been pushing for Communities of Opportunity (COO). This cooing has been going on for some time to the detriment of youth. He is also the one that initiated Project Connect, Project Homeless Connect, all the Connects - but some how the dots do not connect!
I had gone to Oakdale on the request of some Mothers that wanted me to see the toxic piles of Serpentine Rock undercovered and dust particles flying all over the place.

When crushed this rock - Serpentine Rock adversely impacts anyone close up - if you are not wearing top notch Hazmat Gear. In the long run it causes asbestosis that kills you slowly - a ver painful death affecting your lungs mostly.

The mothers were telling me about all sorts of adverse impacts - watery eyes, breathing problems, headaches, the children very restless, and so on and so forth.

Less then hundred feet Dwayne Jones was feeding some folks. Dwayne Jones works for the Mayor of San Francisco - his name is Gavin Newsom.

No one in their right mind should have gathered people to feed them - next to the project on Parcel A and under the jurisdistion of Lennar. Lennar is the worst Developer in the Nation.

The gathering place comes under the Housing Authority and not under Lennar. But, none the case the toxic soil and dust affects the whole area. Hence, some small signs placed by Lennar but which the constituents cannot make head or tail.

There has been no outreach to the constituents of the area explaining about the harmful affect of Serpentine Rock and asbestos friables. Small particulates that will kill you.

The contruction has been going on for months. In first started by Lennar placing some Air Monitoring Equipment and using dead batteries to operate them.

On one inspection the Bay Area Air Quality Management inspected the Equipment and after find out about the batteries - and the lack of valid data - shut down the operation.

Amy Brownell who works for the SF Health Department and for the Environmental Branch knows about this and has NOT been doing her job. So does Doctor Rajiv Bhatia - who can talk the talk but cannot walk the walk.

These two idiots are supposed to be aware of what is happening in the area.

It is critical that the crushed Serpentine Rick be watered down and kept moist. This in NOT done.

Lennar is the Prime Contractor is not doing their job.

Again and again I have written about this nonsense - but they continue to defy sense and go on with their nonsense.

This is the same area where Gavin Newsom wants to build an Olympic Village. The crushed Serpentine Rock should be scooped up and taken away to special area outside the Bay Area.
This is NOT being done.

On Parcel A it is being burried and this will come to haunt anyone in the future. This particular case is ripe for a class action suit.

Time to call the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Center for Diseases Control (CDC).

In the mean time Dwayne Jones has been COOING and trying to hood wink the constituents of Oakdale Area.
