Actions and march in Mexico city aginst Repression in Oaxaca.

Yesterday Oaxaca suffered from a wave of repression in one of the more violent journeys against the People'S Popular Assembly of Oaxaca, APPO, since the begining of this conflict. Three death people including New York Indymedia activist Will Bradley and a teacher, many injured, more than fifthy people dissapeared or kidnaped, was the result of the attacks launched by Ulises Ruiz and perpretated by paramiltary, municipal police dressed in civillian clothes, members of the PRI party and even autorities like the president of the municipality of Santa Maria Coyotepec.

Today at eight o'clock in the morning, President Vicente Fox announced that he had send to Oaxaca the Federal Police, PFP, a group created specifically to act like police, but with miltary methods and training. Radio Universidad, a radio in hands of the APPO and students, received phone calls and reports of six boings airplanes that arrived to Oaxaca's airport carying elements of the Federal Police and equipment. At eleven some media announced that Ulises Ruiz met with the Secretary of Goverment Carlos Abascal. Then, in the afternoon, the Goverment Secratary demanded the APPO to let go of the streets and plazas, using the excuse of granting security for the population.

Two people were arrested for being suspects of the death of New York Indymedia Will Bradley. Many media showed images and video of the shooting wich helped to identify the agressors. Tey are Abel Santiago Zurita, from Public Security, and Manuel Aguilar, staff chief from Santa Lucía del Camino wich puts in evidence the fact that police members and autorities are taking part in the attacks against APPO members.

In the afternoon around 4 pm in Mèxico City a march started in the Hemiciclo a Juarez, a monument near downtown with the goal to reach the oficial residence of Los Pinos, but they were stoped by police in riot gear. Even when the security display was huge there wasn't such a big tension in part because of the pacific ways of the march and because the protesters were less than three thousand. Still the demonstration had live music with drums and some disguizes wich gave it a cheerfull character. Also some people showed red paint stains on their clothes and faces simbolizing the spilled blood in Oaxaca. The protesters demanded solution to the conflict from the president Fox and the federal goverment to whom they responibilize for the violence and for suporting a criminal like Ruiz Ortiz. Once again they stated that the resigning of the governor is their main demand and that they won't stop until it is acomplished.

Back in the Hemiciclo a Juarez, where some teachers hold a hunger strike, a simbolic barricade was built, emulating the thousands of barricades that are spread through Oaxaca and wich have been hot spots. This barricades constructed with bricks, stones, sand bags and wire, are the only defense of the people against the attack of the “caravan of death”, pick up trucks packed with unknown individuals dressed in black using heavy guns like AR-15 and AK-47 rifles. Yesterday three people had to stop participating in the hunger strike because they were allready in a very poor shape and went to a hospital. This sunday will be the 14th day of this hunger strike. The medic in this camp tells us that strikers are suffering from low pressure in arterys they require aluminium gel, or magnesium gel, water, honey, and electrolite solution.

Outide the country, many actions of protest and in support of the oaxacan movement, in Santiago, Chile, in Berlin, Germany, in New York, Tuczon and San Francisco in the U.S., in Brazilia, Brasil and also in Bolivia, Spain and France.

At night fall, a plane has been flying over the city. Because of the strong noise, its believed to be a militar plane like a jet.The city has been under terror, the fear can be sensed in the streets, acording to people talking to Radio Universidad. Also smal towns and comunities are still on a state of full allert. The radio has been coordinating information and action, like keeping track of suspicious vehicles, or actions like intercepting and stopping trucks that were carrying fuel for the planes of the Federal Police stationed at the airport. A march was announced to part from the Juarez Monument in Oaxaca at 2 o'clock, while in mexico city another demonstration will take place at four o'clock.
