Avery F. Gordon is the author of Keeping Good Time: Reflections on Knowledge, Power and People (2004), Ghostly Matters: Haunting and the Sociological Imagination (1997), and other works. She is Professor of Sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara and co-host of the weekly radio program, No Alibis, on KCSB FM. She is currently writing about prison, war, and utopia.
