A Message from Bob McChesney and Media Matters
Here is a fund-raising message from Bob McChesney, host of the popular and acclaimed weekly program, Media Matters (a program devoted to making the media in America more democratic and responsible).
This week's audio-streamed program will be two hours long (Available at the link below).
Amy Goodman, John Nichols, Jeff Cohen, and Janine Jackson will help McChesney-- as will other "special guests who call in to say hi." Norman Soloman, Phil Donahue, maybe? The two hours should prove interesting... and it will be, of course, for a great cause.

Message from Professor Bob McChesney:
This week will be a special two-hour program to launch the fall pledge drive for WILL. Our guests will include Amy Goodman for a full hour, from 1 to 2 [Central time; 10 to 12 Pacific time], as well as John Nichols, Jeff Cohen and Janine Jackson in the first hour. We may also have a few special guests who call in to say hi and wish us well. It is going to be a terrific show, in my humble opinion.
This year it is especially important that Media Matters do well during the pledge drive. It is not just that WILL desperately needs the money -- that is a given -- but, also, that there are opportunities for programs like Media Matters to get produced on other NPR stations if we continue to demonstrate support for Media Matters here at WILL. Matters are very much in flux in public broadcasting in the United States.
This time we have four great new books to offer as premiums. Go to http://will.uiuc.edu/mediamatters/ and see what I mean.
What I would love for you to do is to go to http://will.uiuc.edu/mediamatters/ and make your pledge now. If we can raise a lot of money online [today], then I will have more time to ask Amy
Goodman and my other guests questions about media and politics. And you will be able to sit back, guilt-free, and enjoy the ride knowing you have made your contribution to the cause.
Again, thanks for your support. I feel like a kid in a candy store every week because of what you make possible.
