After Galtung's brief introduction to the Transcend method of conflict transformation, we will examine:*
US domestic policy and persistent inequities at home*
Middle East: Israel/Palestine, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Syria, and Afghanistan* Asia/Pacific, including China/DPRK, Russia, and India* Latin America/Caribbean and Africa*
Europe and the UN
For each region, we will define political, military, economic, and cultural goals sought by major actors involved. Key issues for discussion include "terrorism", foreign aid, human rights, environment, and energy. The format is highly interactive, with lecture, facilitated discussions and small group exercises
