Why Boycott Israel?
A community meeting on the growing International Movement for Boycott and Divestment

Keynote speaker Selma James from London, activist, author, strategist, international coordinator of the Global Women’s Strike. A Jewish participant in a fast day in London during the deliberate destruction of Lebanon and Gaza, Selma James has been vocal in opposing the US/Israeli imperial conquest of the Middle East for oil. She and other speakers will discuss the different forms of boycotts, sanctions, and divestment around the world of Israeli goods, academia and arts as a
non-violent way to end the military occupation of the West Bank and Gaza.
Also discussed will be calls in the Bay Area for the boycott of all Israeli products.

Ms. James is on a US speaking tour and will be bringing news about the international network of grassroots women she coordinates, which demands that every country Invest in Caring not Killing. She is author of Sex, Race and Class and the Power of Women and the Subversion of the Community among other publications.

This event is co-sponsored by the Peacemaking Task Force of the San Francisco Presbytery. Donations accepted. No one turned away for lack of funds.
