Philippine Report Back by BAYAN-USA, ILPS Grassroots Network, Just Cause Oakland, POWER

This Summer, the two of us traveled together to the Philippines on a political exposure trip hosted by BAYAN. The goal of our trip was to deepen our understanding of the organizing model in the Philippines, because they see their work as part of building a movement for true revolutionary change. We spent most of our time on the ground with amazing organizers and mass leaders. We participated in trainings, neighborhood meetings, door-to-door outreach, and mass mobilizations. We know that the struggle of the Philippines is deeply intertwined with our struggle here against U.S. imperialism and that there is an important role that we can play as our organizations grow in our practice of international solidarity.
