Oct 5 San Jose Protest Pictures
San Jose had a small protest on Oct 5, 2006 at Roosevelt Park (at 19th and E. Santa Clara St., San Jose) as well as a significant e-newsletter campaign at San Jose State.
The San Jose Oct 5, 2006 version of the World Can't Wait protest/vigil had about 15+ people visit Roosevelt Park throughout the period of 11AM-3PM. This is a good turnout considering that 2 people were e-mailing and sending out notices beginning Monday, Oct 2. No flyers were handed out for this action. This was a last minute idea of John Thielking of Pagesincolor.com who couldn't go to the SF protest.
The only noticable police presence was a helicopter hovering over San Jose State from about 11AM-11:30AM. Some people who dropped by Roosevelt Park said that there was also a protest at San Jose State. The only action I know about that happened at San Jose State was some people gathering e-mail addresses for their activist newsletter. If something else happened, please post it here.
The Roosevelt Park vigil continued past 3PM, with more people showing up than are shown in these pictures.
