Video: “Bay Area Boricuas Commemorate El Grito de Lares”
Last September 23rd, many Puerto Rican activists living in the Island and abroad came together to commemorate both El Grito de Lares and the one-year anniversary of Filiberto Ojeda Ríos’ assassination by the FBI.

As most of you know, last September 23rd, many Puerto Rican activists living in the Island and abroad came together to commemorate both El Grito de Lares and the one-year anniversary of Filiberto Ojeda Ríos’ assassination by the FBI.
We, Bay Area Boricuas, held our own celebration at La Peña Cultural Center in Berkeley. It was truly an inspiring evening filled with poetry, dance, visual tributes, guest speakers, music and spoken word performances.
Producciones Cimarrón wants to share this video presentation, which shows some highlights of the event, in hope of maintaining a sense of community and solidarity with other Puerto Ricans and our allies everywhere.
