ANSWER Educational Forum:
The War in Iraq & the Elections

• Media myths & realities: What is the situation in Iraq today?
• The real cost of the war—who profits, who pays?
• Is a new war with Iran coming? U.S. plans for “regime change”
• Can elections stop a war? What can?
• Building the anti-war movement—what’s next?

The cost of the Iraq war in lives and resources is spiraling out of control. The Afghanistan war is intensifying, as is the oppression of the Palestinian people. Much of Lebanon lies in ruins due to the 34-day U.S.-Israeli war.

At the same time, education, health care and other social programs continue being chopped to feed the war machine.

In the upcoming national election, neither the Democrats nor the Republicans are calling for an end to escalating militarism. In fact, the leadership of both parties is for more war and “regime change.”

What can stop the endless war drive? What can turn things around?

Come to this important public meeting on Tuesday, October 24. Hear a panel of activists and join in the discussion about these crucial issues.
