Madrigal, Rotkin, Kenyatta Face the Norse on FRSC Sunday

by Robert Norse
Council members and candidates Tony Madrigal, Mike Rotkin, and Simba Kenyatta will be grilled and fileted on Free Radio Santa Cruz Sunday September 24th starting at 9:30 AM 101.1 FM. Chef Norse invites your cooking suggestions at 831-427-3772.
Councilmember Madrigal confirmed that he would be on the show at 9:30 AM. The initial focus will be a discussion of his lone opposition to the "triple fine zones at Halloween" recently voted by City Council. Also on the radar: SCPD collusion with immigration abuses, the Sleeping Ban, rent control, and other old favorites.

Around 10 AM, former Mayor and Councilmember Rotkin will be invited to explore city council process, the dismissal of his 2005 arrest of host Norse, and the question "why should FRSC listeners aware of his abominable record even consider voting for him?" He will also enlighten us on why he led the successful campaign to deny us the right to vote locally on whether Bush should be impeached. Rotkin is running for his 6th (!?) term.

At 11:30 AM, community activist Simba Kenyatta will hopefully discuss his campaign positions on alternatives to police force, dealing with the downtown ordinances, and where he's been as an activist on local homeless issues.

You can phone in your questions early at 423-4833 off-air, or call in at the 427-3772 or 469-3119 studio numbers. The show will be archived at http://www.huffsantacruz.org.
