ANDENBERG AFB: THE KEY TO GLOBAL DOMINATION OF EARTH FROM SPACE

The people of California are hosts to Vandenberg Air Force Base, sprawling over 198,000 acres of coastal land in Santa Barbara county. Missiles, battleships and ground military operations all over the planet are guided by polar satellites launched from Vandenberg.

On Tuesday, September 19th of this year, MacGregor Eddy, a Monterey County WILPF activist and a nurse from Salinas will speak at the Santa Cruz WILPF meeting. MacGregor was convicted of trespass for going onto the base last October during Keep Space for Peace Week to ask the base personnel to cease participating in war crimes under Nuremberg principles. Vandenberg is where delivery systems for nuclear weapons are tested, in flagrant violation of the Nuclear Non-proliferation treaty (NPT), to which US is a signatory .

MacGregor Eddy will present a dynamic slide show about the US "full spectrum dominance" from space, as well as specifics of protests at Vandenberg. Join WILPF at the Friends' Meeting House on Rooney Street at the end of Morrissey in Santa Cruz on Tuesday, September 19th, at 7pm. Free; for information call 457-6797.
