Homeless Rights end at landlord lawyers door

It seems that fighting homelessness is limited to others landlords only. African American "Womens Spirituallity" professor and "Womens Ritual" dancer landlady and her white "homeless" rights landlord husband used their (recently released from a local mental ward) tenant and soon to be "live-in" housekeeper to circumnavigate the law by filing a restraining order against a disbled African American tenant, my friend Lynn, who was not moving out of their house fast enough after an open lung surgery.

Problems in the household seemed to have started after the now evicted tenant balked at the landlady/lords not taking any responsability for hospitalizing their THEIR other tenant during a phsycotic break. It would seem that the "mental health' issues of their tenants are "not their problem" as the now evicted tenant was told during a phone call to the liberal attorney after her spending 10 in the emergency room with their tenant. Tensions continued to raise when the white housekeeper who usually lives in her custom camper complete with TV was allowed to "crash" in the house while only the recovering disabled tenant was there.

The restraining order was denied by an Oakland judge because "pouring out a smoothy drink was not considered grounds for harrassing behavior". The famous Ashby BART station flea market lawyer was advised that representing his land lady wife in the case was a conflict of interest". When asked why the lawyer and his wife and mentally ill tenant why they did not pay for filing the restraining order, the lawyer/landlord stated that they "thought they would not have to pay anything if it was a harrassment restraining order". After all, evicting a disabled tenant on oxygen to move your house keeper in is illegal.

That is what they based their decision to harrass this woman on - what would be cheapest to them!!! SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!!!!! Shame on all of you!!!! Shame on everyone who culluded with them. Shame on their "Famous" uppercrust, elitist, so called "femimist" friends. Shame on the community that raises them above all accountability.

It would seem that in the "Progressive Left" fighting racism and respecting women stops short of the home threshhold. The landlady, who made claims of physical illness as a reason for evicting the tenant is leaving the country to dance through out the country of Mali. All complaints of brain damage and MS seems to have disapeared. Mean while my friend lives in a small rented room in back of a store because living in that toxic house was effecting her breathing. She was diagnosed with asbestosis after her surgery.

When will racism and sexism, internalized racism and internatized sexism, classism and the mental illness of our so called "progressive leaders" be addressed. This lawyer was not even held accountable legally for his manipulation of the law or purgery in a court of law or conflict of interest. Not to mention the absence of any question of credability of the couple by anyone in the "Progressive", feminist, so called "Anti-bias" , Lesbian and BiSexual Bay Area community.

As usual, workingclass, average american Black women, non "Sexually Exotic", non "chic" or "Racially Exotic" everyday women, are invisable (or seen as sexual competetion by the white wives) in the Liberal Left Progressive, feminist community and must be gotten rid of or ignored. The next time you go to a "political" event notice who are the most visable people. Not the entertainment, Black women and other women of color who are allowed to sing, dance & perform for the progressive community. But aside from that, if you are poor, not part of the "radical sexual Chic" - you are out of luck with this group. At least with the "right wing" religious nuts are honest in their targeting, you know where you stand with them.
