ABOUT “WHAT LIES BENEATH” : Revealing emotion and mood through color and texture.
The drive to emote through expressive and purposeful use of color and texture charges the motivation of artists working in abstraction to convert energy and inspiration into works that transcend the capabilities of language to convey emotion and mood. "What Lies Beneath: Revealing Emotion and Mood through Color and Texture" explores the quality of the emotion and the weight of the mood revealed in compositions of various media. This exhibit is a survey of the nuanced and complex relationships color associations and textural variations form with each other in a work and with the viewer on an emotional level.
A portion of the art sales will benefit the San Francisco Artist Resource Center non-profit (501) c.
ARTISTS
Painting: Heather Hanan, Jennifer Morris, Roberto Montoya, Celestte, Ann Simms, Marius Starkey, Fong Fai, Mary Lou D’Auray, Louis Bording, Richard Bollingbroke, Aisjah Hopkins, Karen Gutfreund
Photography: Ari Salomon, Genea Barnes, Rich St. Cyr, Suzun Hughes, Pat Koenisgberg, Peggy Snider
