BEAT BACK BUSH WORKOUT film & workshop night!

"The award-winning Beat Back Bush Workout is an 18-minute educational,
informational, and motivational video that seeks to ignite the Hip-Hop
Generation in our fight for social justice. Using the language and rhythms of our generation, we hope to inspire today's visionaries to share and take action, in order to manifest our unique visions of change for this country.

The video addresses a plethora of issues and policies including: abortion, the war, and globalization.
Inspired by music videos and other contemporary media, the video features dance, kickboxing, yoga, jazzercise, break-dancing, hip hop, animation, original spoken word and music.

BEAT BACK BUSH screening and spoken word by Soha Al-Jurf, Kahlil Almustafa, followed by a workshop in which the audience will have an opportunity to bring to life the concept of art as activism through the Performance/Protest Challenge. Working in small groups, participants will be guided in the process of improvising a performance with a political message, creating fresh and fun ways to make their political opinions heard.
