Central Valley Women’s Equality Day March and Rally

Several hundred women from throughout the Central Valley rallied to empower women and to get women to vote in the November 2006 elections. The event started with a march, led by Dolores Huerta, in downtown Fresno. The march concluded at the Free Speech area on the Fulton Mall where participants heard a series of speakers.

There were many community groups at the march, including the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (photo above), the Green Party, and Peace Fresno. There were also high school students, young mothers (photo above), members of the LGBTQ, and more at the event.
