Humvee Destroyed Three Troops Dead

A high-explosive bomb blew up by a US patrol in the al-Jawlan neighborhood of northwestern Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad Monday according to a dispatch posted at 8:55pm Makkah time Monday night by Mafkarat al-Islam.

Eyewitnesses were quoted as saying that at 12 noon local time Monday, a high-yield bomb went off directly under a Humvee in an American patrol in the al-Jawlan neighborhood. The blast killed three soldiers immediately and left a fourth mortally wounded, according to witnesses who added that the Humvee was destroyed.

US forces quickly threw down a security cordon around the area and imposed a curfew there that lasted for one and a half hours until they were finished clearing away the wreckage and the bodies. One vehicle arrived to evacuate the wounded soldier to the US military hospital located west of Fallujah. No other details were available.

Resistance Mortars Pound US Al-Habbaniyah Base Monday Afternoon

In a dispatch posted at 9:30pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces unleashed a mortar barrage on the US base located 25km west of the city of Fallujah on Monday afternoon. Eyewitnesses in the village of al-Bu Mar‘i, which is located close to the American base, were quoted as saying that seven mortar rounds and one rocket blasted into the main American base at al-Habbaniyah during the late afternoon on Monday. The witnesses said that four pillars of black smoke could be seen rising from the American-occupied facility after the barrage, but in keeping with their usual secrecy, the Americans released no information on the nature or extent of their casualties.

Ambush Leaves Four “National Guards” Dead In Jazirat Al-Khalidiyah

Resistance forces ambushed a column of puppet “Iraqi National Guards” at the entrance to the Jazirat al-Khalidiyah area also on Monday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in Jazirat al-Khalidiyah as saying that the attack began when a bomb exploded by the column, destroying a Humvee. After that, Resistance fighters equipped with light arms and rocket propelled grenades pounced on the column destroying a second Humvee and killing four of the Iraqi “National Guards” and seriously wounding five more of them.

Fighting Rages Monday Night Between Pro-American Troops, Militias And Local Residents Of Al-Miqdadiyah

In a dispatch posted at 11:50am Makkah time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fierce fighting erupted between local men and Iraqi puppet army troops backed by pro-American Shi‘i sectarian militias in the al-Miqdadiyah area, about 85km northeast of Baghdad, on Sunday evening. Eyewitnesses were quoted as saying that the Iraqi puppet army, backed by sectarian militiamen attacked the villages of Jabbur and al-Jaff and killed two villagers and arrested five more. The attackers carried out a campaign of raids in the al-Miqdadiyah district for no apparent reason.

Witnesses said that the Iraqi army and the sectarian militia forces attacked homes of men who guarded the local Sunni mosques and attempted to arrest them on charges of possession of weapons, even though they knew full well that the weapons they had were licensed by the local governing council for protecting local Sunni mosques. The puppet forces nevertheless attacked their houses, opening fire on the buildings and then violently beating the men.

A tense atmosphere prevailed in al-Miqdadiyah following the raids as fear that Shi‘i sectarian militias who are concurrently members of the puppet army and police will resume.

Armed Men Assassinate Chairman Of Tribal Council In Kirkuk

Unknown armed men attacked and killed the Chairman of the tribal council in the northern city of Kirkuk at 10:30am local time Monday morning according to a report from Mafkarat al-Islam.

A source in the Iraqi police was quoted as saying that unknown men armed with machine guns attacked the car carrying Shaykh Badr Hashim and his son ‘Ali Badr Hashim in the al-Baruk Khan area in central Kirkuk. The correspondent reported that the attack left Shaykh Badr Hashim dead and his son severely wounded.

Resistance Fighters Ambush US Patrol In Mosul

In a dispatch posted at 12:29pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters ambushed a US patrol in the northern city of al-Mawsil. Local eyewitnesses were quoted as saying that Resistance fighters equipped with light and medium arms attacked a US patrol on the main road in the al-Intisar neighborhood of southwestern Mosul. Three US troops were wounded in the attack, one of them severely. The Resistance fighters left the area having suffered no casualties of their own.

Car Bomber Blasts “National Guard” Checkpoint

A Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into an puppet “Iraqi National Guard” check point in Tall ‘Afar west of Mosul in northern Iraq. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in Tall ‘Afar as saying that the blast, on the outskirts of the city, disabled one puppet “Guard” vehicle and killed two puppet “National Guards” and wounded seven more of them.

Resistance Bombards British Headquarters In Basra Before Dawn Monday

In a dispatch posted at 1:10pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Resistance forces fired three heavy 120mm mortar rounds and four medium-range Katyusha rockets into the headquarters of British occupation forces in the southern Iraqi city of al-Basrah at 3am local time Monday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the al-Barradi‘iyah district of al-Basrah as saying that the British forces that have set themselves up in the former presidential palaces in the city took direct hits from the rockets and shells and that violent explosions went off inside the British headquarters, sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky. No other details were available.
