Executive Park and SF Planning Fiasco

by Francisco Da Costa
The South Bayshore Plan has always included Executive Park as part of its detail plan. A Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) was formed by the developer that first purchased the land by Bayview Hill in the 1970s. SF City Planning has been pussyfooting with the plan and using the District 10 Supervisor and her side-kick aide Greg Assay to cause disunity in the community. Now suddenly the Executive Park developers are mandated to pay for facilties, and other benefits in far away and across the rails - Visitation Valley. The Executive Park plans have been stalled because of stupid politics.
Again and again petty politicis play an important role in San Francisco. Executive Park has gone before the San Francisco Planning and got all the required permits to build good homes at Executive Park by Bayview Hill and closer to Bayview Hunters Point.

The dot.com bust has forced Executive Park to change some of its plans. Incentives linked to Commercial Space are available close by at Brisbane, South San Francisco, and Daly City.
Executive Park developer wants to build affordable housing but has been stalled by SF Planning and dirty SF politics from the Mayor's office.

While Executive Park has closer relationship with Little Hollywood, Bayview Hunters Point it has NOT had that close of a relationship with Visitation Valley. For sure not with proxy Fran Martin who represents the worse District Supervisor from District 10.

Visitation Valley has not been cared for by several City and County of San Francisco Mayors. That includes Mayor Willie L. Brown Jr. and Mayor Gavin Newsom. Sees Candy and several other huge companies in Visitation Valley pay taxes but the City is slow to invest and help Visitation Valley.

Visitation Valley has really suffered under the present inept District 10 Supervisor - Sophina Maxwell. There are many toxic hot spots that need abatement but the District 10 Supervisor has no clue. She is on the take. She has no vision. She has no leadership.

Taking a hint from Chris Daly who has made deals linked with the Rincon Hill development to bring facilities and other benefits to his South of Market Area constituents. Sophie wants to do the same - but the situation is different. Ron Hill will build over 500 feet high rise density units.
Down Town San Francisco has potential to seel units quickly or so we think.

Sophina Maxwell has no clue about real benefits and will not hold the City responsible to invest in Visitation Valley.

She will however make deals with crooks such as Lennar BVHP LLC and has been on the take. She had a special relationship with Roy Wills who served as a conduit for illegal deals under the table. Top Vision and other companies cater to her whims and fancy.

She loves meeting behind close doors and does not believe in the Brown Act and fair play. She has been taken to the Sunshine Task Force on several occasions and her faults pointed out. She will simply not learn.

Executive Park has the permits and plans in place. Executive Park should be independent of Visitation woes and crooks like Fran Martin who are forcing developers to contribute to her own plans - none of which have worked.

Mayor Gavin Newsom will favor a remote and far fetched plan to bring the 2016 Summer Olympics. He will favor building a stadium and other dreams without meaningful dialog from the community at large.

In the interim using Dwayne Jones and other crooks the Mayor is makiing every effort to drive thousands of African Americans and others out of Public Housing at Hunters Point and near by areas.

He wants rich folks to come and stay in homes that he proposes to build using his very rich developer friends at Hunters Poing and Double Rock closer to Candlestick Park. The land is prime and the weather the best - the views the very best any where in the City.

No one is paying attention to Executive Park.

The commercial space is there but Executive Park cannot compete with nearby Brisbane, South San Francisco, Daly City - these cities give huge breaks to the companies.

Executive Park developer George Yerby wants to build housing and reserve some affordable housing but the City and County of San Francisco is playing politics and games. The delaying tactics are held over so that when the Mayor is ready with his 2016 plans with the Summer Olympics - he wants Executive Park developers to play second fiddle.
