Everyone,

I am sorry to have to present some very, very sad news. Tim McKay, the Executive Director of the Northcoast Environmental Center, died yesterday. Tim was birding at Stone Lagoon with his partner Michelle when he was struck by what was apparently a massive heart attack. He was taken to Mad River Hospital, but they were unable to save him. Tim was 59 years old.

Tim has been the Director of the NEC for some 27 years. Throughout that time, he has been a leader on environmental issues on the local, state, and national level. His knowledge, intelligence and professionalism were well respected by those he worked with, as well as by government agencies and elected representatives.

On a personal level, Tim was very influencial to me. He was one of the first people I spoke to when dealing with my first timber harvest plan (the Sunny Brae forest). He encouraged me to "engage the process" and advised me on how to get involved and get informed. Over the last few years I have been priveleged to get to work along side Tim as part of the Heatlhy Humboldt Coalition. I valued his perspective and the years of experience he brought to any discussion. I have always had tremendous respect and appreciation for him.

Tim died doing something that he loved, with the person he loved, in a place that he loved. It is perhaps fitting that his last moments were spent enjoying the beauty of the natural environment that he worked so hard to protect.

Tim leaves behind his two adult children, his partner Michelle, and his brother, as well as hundreds of friends. Plans are underway for a celebration of Tim's life in August. Contact can be made through the Northcoast Environmental Center at 822-6918, or nec at yournec.org.

Tim was one of those that guided me as a student into enviromental studies and the pursuit of what was right for the earth. Though my views did not always agree with Tim, he had my utmost respect, and to his family my prayers go out to.

Alhough I had lost touch with Tim over the years since moving to the east coat, I tracked his work and inspiration via the Northcoast Environmental Center website and with friendswho live nearby. Tim was there at the start when folks were getting orgainzed to make a changeback in hte early 70's. It took people who were willing to stick arund and set asside many personal needs to stop bad development, loss of biodiversity and rampant clearcuts. There was a wonderful cadre' of people who helped with those battles at so many levels - many are pictued in the 30th anniversary pictures for the NEC. Even though I work for the National Park Service in Washington, D.C. now, I have always felt that real work happens in communities. And Tim was an inspiration for one of one of those communities at the NEC. the last time I saw Tim was when I visited Humboldt about 8 years ago and stopped by hte NEC- before the fire. I caught up a bit with his work and what he was enjoying . It felt comforting to know he was there - a "spotter" for the environment. I admired him and will miss his dedication.

by defining the term "coincidence"
We need to further discuss the patterns of activist deaths. Naturally accidents happen, people's bodies grow old and sick, death is a natural process. However, is it possible that activist deaths occur in patterns, and could certain entities outside of the natural process be influencing these patterns??

this also pertains to the north coast;

Terrorist Gang Stalking

Gang stalking enjoys a long and sordid history. It was a part of the KKK's infamous lynching campaign that lasted well into the the twentieth century, was called Jew Baiting prior to the Holocaust, was perfected by the East German secret police who were called the Stasi, was called "Rat F'ing" by the Nixon administration, and has also been known as Blacklisting, McCarthyism, The Red Scare, Cause Stalking, Stalking By Proxy, and The Politics of Personal Destruction.

People ranging from activists (democrat and republican) to whistle blowers to women who have dared to break up with abusive partners are being targeted. Terrorist Gang Stalking is a form of abuse designed to control, intimidate, and ultimately destroy.

Nobody is immune. Terrorist Gang Stalking is an equal opportunity form of torture. Because of it's covert nature Gang Stalking is well known among those who are targeted by it and those who practice it as America's "dirty little secret". In the United States those in power can't legally imprison or torture those who oppose them politically or who threaten to expose crime, greed and corruption.

But some people with power and money can have those they hate targeted for gang stalking until they commit suicide, are set up and jailed, become homeless, or are forced into prostitution. The point of gang stalking is to marginalize a person who has been labeled a threat by driving them to insanity, poverty, or suicide.

Experts estimate that one out of every 12 women will be stalked within her lifetime and one out of every 45 men will be stalked in his. If this epidemic is allowed to continue unabated, in ten years everyone in the United States will either be stalked or know someone who is being stalked.

Terrorist Gang Stalking is a tool employed by fascists who seek to quash freedom of speech along many other Constitutional rights. Please join us in the fight to expose and stop this insidious crime.

when does it seem like patterned coincidence?? 08.Aug.2006 11:51

too many dead bodies, accidents, suicides, etc.. link

Last year (July 23rd 2005) forest activist Joan Norman was killed in an auto accident just south of the Oregon border on Hgwy 199. Only a few days (not sure of exact date) before i rode (solo) with my bicycle trailer north into Oregon on the same road (199) from Arcata, CA towards the Siskyou Mountains. Then i headed south into CA and rode southeast towards Mt. Shasta along the Klamath river. The day before i got there a local woman's dead body was discovered along the Klamath river. During visits to town i discovered this info via local and imc media and completed by trip into the eastern Sierras with a sense of unease about the timing in my stomach. Very few people know about these coincidences and how they effect me personally..

"CAVE JUNCTION, Ore. -- On July 23, legendary activist Joan Norman, 72, was killed in a head on car collision on Highway 199 near the Oregon-California border. Joan was a much adored hero in the activist community and her death has sent shockwaves through southern Oregon and beyond. Fellow forest activists, and Norman's friends and family are planning a solidarity forest defense action in her honor on August 2, 2005."

These 'coincidences' have appeared more obvious to me following the discovery of a dead body near the redwood grove on Grizzly Creek State Park (Hgwy 36) where NCEF! and other forest defense activists held an action camp to support the Aradia treesit on "Gypsy" mountain..

Aradia treesit raided;
http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2004/09/25/24652.php

The placement of the dead body buried under redwood branches was on the beginning of the trail leading up to the Aradia treesit. We discovered the body a few days after the Aradia treesit was raided and cut down by Maxxam/PL loggers. There was a brief mention of "forest activists discover dead body" in the local media, Eureka Times-Standard. Following aggressive questioning (mostly about fellow activists) as a potential homicide witness by Humboldt Sheriff homicide investigators, i have chosen to leave Humboldt county. The Humboldt Sheriffs have my HSU email and mothers phone number if they need to contact me further, though from now on i'll only talk with them if an attorney is present. The Humboldt Sheriff's told me "the victim was a drug addict" and that it was totally unrealted to our action camp at Grizzly Creek. They thanked me for my help and said they would contact me if they needed anything else. I told the Humboldt Sheriffs i was leaving Humboldt county and would remain in California's central valley..

The foolish choices i made in agreeing to talk with Humboldt homicide dectectives without an attorney present were against advice from peers, though the legal support was busy and there was intense pressure from Humboldt Sheriffs to come inside and talk with them ("What have YOU got to hide" the homicide detectives said.). Needless to say cooperating with law enforcement has compromised both my identity and credibility in the movement. Am now much lower key in political activism, am fearing for the physical safety of loved ones (not me, the CIA stalkers would kill the ones i love/care about and make me suffer with the knowledge of their deaths)..

Am not into "giving up" activism, but mention of this gang stalking by fascist elements needs greater coverage without resorting to "conspiracy theory" accusations..

Tim was a local hero, that touched the world. I personally hope there will be many to follow in his tracks. His victory against giants will benefit us all. There are many giants ahead. We hope to do our part with water conservation.
