What is Mobilize the Immigrant Vote (MIV)?
Mobilize the Immigrant Vote 2006 (MIV) is a statewide campaign led by a collaborative of diverse organizations throughout California committed to supporting the full inclusion of immigrant communities in the political process. MIV 2006 is a non-partisan campaign and does not support or oppose any political candidates or parties.
In the midst of historic mobilizations for immigrant rights, the MIV Campaign is gearing up for another statewide effort to show immigrant power at the polls! Today we march, tomorrow we vote is more than a slogan, it is a way to show political power and advance our position on immigration reform.
We are planning a full range of campaign activities for the November general election, including community based issue analysis forums, a free training for community-based organizations on elections work, multilingual voter guides with analysis of the propositions, multi-lingual voters rights palm cards & more!
How can I join the campaign?
Complete the attached sign-on and palm card order form and fax them to the California Partnership at 213-353-1344. The palm cards -- printed in English, Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, Korean and Vietnamese -- provide voters with Know Your Rights information. When you sign on, you’ll also receive a FREE MIV Toolkit developed by PILA with 300+ pages of voter registration, education, and mobilization tools and lessons.
