Anti-war Activists Gather to Protest Senator Feinstein's Uncritical Support of Israel
Green Party Candidate Todd Chretien and Peace and Freedom Party Candidate Marsha Feinland (both for U.S. Senate) join local Palestinian, Arab, and Jewish Voices for Peace-- and-- other Antiwar Activists to decry incumbent Senator Dianne Feinstein's plan to lead a cruelly insensitive pro-Israel political rally earlier today.
Here are some photos of their protest.
Green Party candidate for U.S. Senate Todd Chretien joined other anti-war activists (including Peace and Freedom candidate Marsha Feinland) at 11 am today in San Francisco near the Ferry Building to denounce a nearby rally to be led by Senator Dianne Feinstein.
All had sharp words for Feinstein and other politicians who are blindly uncritical of Israeli government policies in the Middle East-- especially its most recent opportunistic, disproportionate and brutal escalation of violence in Lebanon.
They described how Israel's government, in opposition to its own vocal peace movements, is targeting civilians in Lebanon, wreaking havoc, and reducing future chances for mediation and conflict resolution.
“Sen. Feinstein’s decision to lead the pro-Israel rally called by Jewish Community Relations Council is despicable. At least she is consistent. She has voted to send tens of billions of dollars in military equipment to Israel and now she supports the use of those F-16’s to murder children in Gaza and Lebanon.” said Chretien in an earlier statement.

Todd Chretien and others join to remind other Americans that not everyone is blind or agreeable to the evil done in our name.
Peace and Freedom Candidate Marsha Feinland and Green Party Candidate are united against Feinstein's policies that favor corporations and hurt people.
How many people know that many of today's problems in the Middle East might never had evolved had Franklin Roosevelt's desires for the region not been shelved by those intent on protecting their colonial interests?
One does not read or hear enough about Jews and Israelis articulating peaceful resolution to the seminal conflict in Palestine: is the U.S, mainstream media doing its job? Google Rabbi Lerner of Tikkun... or the Israeli Peace Movement. Read about Mordecai Venunu, and Noam Chomsky. There are alternatives!
Berkeley resident Marsha Feinland, like Todd Chretien is running for the U.S. Senate against Dianne Feinstein. Feinland represents the Peace and Freedom Party.
Pat Gray is a past Congressional candidate for california District 12. She admires John F. Kennedy because he once said "What kind of peace do we seek? Not a pax americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war.... Not merely peace for Americans, but peace for all men and women. Not merely peace in our time, but peace for all time."
Todd Chretien is the candidate I will be voting for this November.
Listening to him today convinced me yet again that this (still young) man does his homework... is brilliant... and has a heart. Perhaps a new era would dawn if he were elected... the mere fact that he can so courageously speak the truth today and change hostile and intolerant minds promises that a new era may be already upon us.
All but ignored in December of last year when he announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate-- Todd Chretien's campaign is attracting lots more attention today.
... and it is starting in SAN FRANCISCO!
Todd Chretien is describing how U.S. Helicopters provided to Israel by George W. Bush and an uncritical Congress end up being used to kill Palestinian and Lebanese civilians, women and children.
