Safeway at Church and Market Assaults and Harasses another Sick Poor Person

by Naomi Graffitti
Safeway Security and Assistant Manager Harass a suspected shoplifter who has Porject Openhand food in a wheeled suitcase and when he objects and walks out tries to take his suitcase away from him- saying to a witness "He was trepressing so I can take this property from him"
Last month Safeway Security threw a homeless man to the ground and while holding him a a four point restraint also had put their knee on his neck. This month two witnesses watched as Safeway security and an employee first assualted and then took a poor persons suitcase away from him because they suspected him of shoplifting. The suitcase it turned out was full of food labled from porject Open Hand. The suspected shoplifter asked again and again that the police be called but security did not call them instead throwing him to the ground , talking food out of the bag and when he objected and walked away tried to take the bag when he was off Safeway grounds when another shopper said "Hey- you can't take his bag- that's his property" The assistant amanger then said "He is trepsassing and I can take his bag. "You're assualting him- Can I take your clothes" she replied. At this point the shopper was pushed off grounds by Safeway security but the man's bag was returned to him.

The shopper and her partner , who was in the store when this was occuring and came out after the incident was over, came back in and returned all the items they had bought- amounting to over $60 dollars saying "You may or may not have stopped a shoplifter but if you treat people this way you will loose buisness. The remedy for shoplifting is calling the police - Not assualt or stealing yourself."

The couple took pictures of the contents of the suitcase and pictures of the security people in action.

It should be noted that Project Open Hand only gives food to those who have Aids or Cancer. Safeway therefore took food out of the mouth of a rather sick person. Ain't it a shame?
