FOLSOM STREET EVENTS ANNOUNCES IMPROVEMENTS FOR 23RD ANNUAL FAIR SEASON
Dedicated Leather Women’s Area and Top Entertainers lead list of fair developments
Folsom Street Events™ is working diligently on its 23rd fair season with its extraordinary line up of essential leather events: Up Your Alley™ (Sunday, July 30th), Magnitude™ (Saturday, September 23rd) and Folsom Street Fair™ (Sunday, September 24th). In the past six months, the organization has been preparing for growth and a bigger, better fair season include the following developments:
Leather Women’s Area
Working in conjunction with leaders in the leather women’s community, the Board of Directors of Folsom Street Events™ is proud to inaugurate a Women’s Area, to be located on 9th Street between Folsom and Howard of the Folsom Street Fair™. The area will feature a dedicated tent area for education and socializing as well as women’s specific vendors on the street. This area is a landmark in community development efforts because it will ensure that the women’s community feels even more safe and welcome at the Folsom Street Fair™.
Premier Entertainment
This year marks the first time that the Folsom Street Fair™ will be showcasing a roster of world-renowned live alternative rock entertainers, such as My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult and Blowoff, featuring artist Bob Mould (Hüsker Dü, Sugar) and Richard Morel. Folsom Street Events™ welcomes LIVE 105 as a presenting sponsor, offering broadcasts of the live entertainment including up-and-coming bands like The May Fire, Unknown Boy, and Smash-Up Derby. The focus on live bands promises to attract a wider cross-section of the adult alternative lifestyle community to the Fair.
Environmentalism Efforts
Folsom Street Events™ is working closely this year with the San Francisco Department of the Environment (SFE). The organization has received confirmation that it will accept a modest grant to help with recycling and composting efforts at both fairs. The goal is to reach as close to 100% waste diversion as possible and to develop a model program that is transferable to fellow street fair producers. With technical assistance and financial support from SFE, Folsom Street Events™ is confident to achieve its goal of producing totally green street fairs.
Sponsors
This year’s Folsom Street Fair™ sponsors are Miller/Miller Genuine Draft, Tattoo, Cuervo, RECON.com, TitanMen, Elbow Grease, Dungeonbeds, Blow Buddies, Hot House Entertainment, Steamworks, Mustang Studios, Mr. S Leather, BigMuscle.com, Leatherpost, Renoir Hotel, and Powerhouse Bar.

This 'event' has degenerated into free advertisements for its corporate sponsers. Get real, since whenhas 'live 105' and Millerbeer been interestedin anything but their profit margins.
The Folsom Street Fair and the Up your alley fair are 2 of largest sex positive events in the country. It is amazing and interesting that advertisers want that market. even tho i oppose capitalsim, i find it interesting to note where it is going. I also think the announcement of the women's area of Folsom is important and deserves mention as part of changing culture mores.
We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
