Sacramento Food Not Bombs
Cesar Chavez Park (10th and I Streets)
Every Sunday 1:30 PM

Food Not Bombs is one of the fastest growing grassroots political groups in America and abroad. There are hundreds of chapters protesting militarism and poverty by serving free vegetarian food to people in need. We operate on the basis of there being more than enough food for everyone. In our economy, however, food is a reward for those who can afford it, and in the process, surplus food is disposed of. Food Not Bombs calls attention to the failures of society to support those within it while funding the forces of war and violence. We are committed to the use of non-violent direct action to change society. We serve food as a practical act of sustaining people and organizations. Thousands of meals are served each week by Food Not Bombs chapters across the globe in an effort to protest homelessness, starvation, and military forces.

VOLUNTEERS ARE ALWAYS NEEDED!

We cook on Sundays from 10am-1pm If you would like to help with food preparation, please contact us!

After the food is prepared it is transported to Cesar Chavez plaza (10th & J). We serve at the park on Sundays from 1:30-3:00. If you would just like to help serve, you can just show up at the park.

After serving we return to clean up from 3:30pm - 5 or 6pm.
If you are able to bike to FNB it is encouraged, as most weeks everything is transported via bike trailer.

Other volunteer opportunities include, food donation pickups, soliciting food donations [farmers markets are great opportunities for on the spot requests for donations],
community outreach [distributing fliers, etc], and fundraising [tabling is the easiest form of fundraising].
