Everyone know that the labor folks will continue to support the termed-out Democrat Party hacks who are running for statewide office, so what's the point?
Can anyone recall or name one thing Lt Gov. Cruz Bustedmonty has done for the people of Caleefornia and why he should be supported for Insurance Commissioner over Tom Condit of the Peace and Freedom Party?
What, exactly, are the accomplishments of Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi and why should he be elected Lt. Gov.? Has he solved the Workers Comp, health insurance or any other problems that qualify him to be supported over the Peace and Freedom Party's Stewart Alexander or Green Party's Donna Warren? Oh, Garamendi can bring in the conservative inland empire vote... that's really progressive..
And what about Attorney General Executioner Bill Lockyer, who wants to be State Treasurer? Besides signing the Death Warrant for Tookie Williams, what has Lockyer done? Has he cracked down on corporate polluters or collected the billions stolen from Caleeforniuns by ENRON?
But Jerry Brown says he will be a progressive Attorney General and go after corporate crime. Yeh, right. His track record as Oakland Mayor is one of failure, arrogance, and selling out to developers. Maybe he can enroll members of the state legislature in his military charter school and kick their butts. That certainly has worked to reduce crime in Oakland....
As long as the labor movement keeps giving these clowns a pass and fails to hold them accountable for their real failures, we'll keep getting bland, incompetent, and unqualified party hacks as our candidates. If the Cal Labor Fed took the bold step of endorsing at least one candidate from the Green Party, like Forrest Hill for Secretary of State, or Peace and Freedom Party, like Gerald Sanders for Controller, they would send a message to the failed democrat hacks that change is needed and business as usual won't make it anymore.
