Updated Announcement on 16th & Broadway Protest 6/17

by Dan Bacher
Here's an updated announcement about tomorrow's demonstration at 16th & Broadway in Sacramento, with a list of additional sponsors.
Hello everyone,

This is the last reminder about tomorrow's (Saturday's) 2500 Deaths War
Protest (see updated list of sponsors below).

Please come out to 16th & Broadway, from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, to protest the
unnecessary killing of over 2,500 U.S. soldiers and over 150,000 Iraqi men,
women and children. Protest 6:30-8:30, Candlelight Vigil 8:30-9:00.

It is significant that the U.S. death toll has surpassed 2,500. It is not,
as White House Press Secretary Tony Snow says, just "a number."

This is a time when showing the names and faces of those who have died,
flag-draped coffins, and other images of war not properly covered by the
media, can be particularly important.

We are happy to learn that the Capoeira Arts percussion group will attend
tomorrow's protest and bring their peacefully dynamic expressions of sound.
In addition to bringing signs and banners, people are encouraged to make use
of other forms of imagery.

To ensure strong attendance, please forward this to others; and bring your
friends, banners, flags, signs, candles and instruments to 16th & Broadway
this Saturday.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Sponsors: Stephen & Virginia Pearcy, George McAdow & Ruth Holbrook,
