These announcements report that U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez and his counterparts from Mexico and Canada are launching the North American Competitiveness Council June 15.

In a June 12 statement, the U.S. Commerce Department said the council comprises private-sector business leaders from North America who will provide recommendations on how to improve the competitiveness of the region's businesses in the global market.

The Competitiveness Council will be introduced formally at the Commerce Department headquarters during a press conference with Gutierrez, Mexico's Economy Minister Sergio Garcia de Alba, and Canada's Minister of Industry Maxime Bernier, along with members of the council.

Commentary:
Global Governance is the application of universal principles of democracy, order, security and prosperity. Global governance combines state power and corporate resources for rule over the people; it is this state corporatism that directs domestic and foreign policy.

Global Governance is initiated via democratic institutions such as meetings, summits, councils and working groups; these replace constitutional law and statute law. Leaders set policy at meetings http://tinyurl.com/eh8l5 and summits http://tinyurl.com/h2rg3 Then councils http://tinyurl.com/ej2r3 and working groups http://tinyurl.com/n9q8c consisting of governmental ministers and businesses executives establish deep integration of government with industry, commerce and trade -- these councils and working groups provide the infrastructure for new governance. Here national sovereignty is sacrificed as the interests of the region rise in pre-eminence.

As the above mentioned democratic instituions evolve, a strong-leader emerges; he is the point-man or unitary executive. His word, will and way is the law of the land.
