PENCE GALLERY (212 D Street, Davis, CA 95616)
Opening Reception Friday, June 9, 6-9 p.m .
The Pence Gallery will be displaying the work of first year UC Davis Master of Fine Arts graduate students in the exhibition TB 9 and the Fiction Factory.
As part of their studies, students are exploring a wide range of ideas and media in order to develop their own personal artistic style. The students are assisted and critiqued by the UC Davis art studio faculty, comprising of established and well-renowned practicing artists such as David Hollowell, Gina Werfel, and Wayne Thiebaud. By including the campus building TB 9 in their exhibit title, the students are referencing the history of TB 9 as a studio and classroom for some of the most influential artists of our time, such as Robert Arneson and David Gilhooly. Central to the MFA program is the importance of producing a significant body of work that each individuals style.
