Attacks on Immigrants Spread to L.A.

Attacks on Latino Immigrants have spread from the U.S.-Mexico border to South Central Los Angelos, says the Green Party. A farm that has fed and supplemented the income of the Latino and indigenous families of the area for over a dozen years is now planned to be demolished to make way for a Wal-mart. The developer recently purchased the land at half its value from a decade ago, and plans to use law enforcement to evict the farmers and destroy the farm. The farm is said to help reduce pollution in the area, and provide a child-friendly environment for the community. Greens called on the L.A. mayor to use eminent domain rights to protect the farm and its community as has been done several times to protect commercial interests.
