Mayor Gavin Newsom rejects plan to keep Golden Gate closed on Saturday

by Francisco Da Costa (frandacosta [at] att.net)
The Golden Gate Park is closed to vehicular traffic on Sundays but now some fanatics want to close the Golden Gate Park on Saturdays. This group of fanatics have had their way for a long, long time. However, many have had it with these fanatics that have no compassion for those that have physical challenges. Mayor Gavin Newsom rejected the ordinance to keep Golden Gate Park closed on Saturdays. This should make JOKE McGoldrick think twice and those that have no clue about compassion, Americans with Disabilities Act, and the growing population that is over 60 years old.
The population of San Francisco does not favor the closing of the Golden Gate Park on Saturdays.

It may be an interm measure but it does not serve the constituents of San Francisco. The Board of Supervisors (BOS) voted in favor but the Mayor rejected the vote and sent it back faster then it came to his table for signature.

Now it will go back and if the BOS and we they can muster 8 votes then it will become law for a short trial period. I doubt it.

I know a lot of the fanatics are shocked but that is what a lot of us feel when some fanatics want special attention and care a hoot for those that need compassion.

San Francisco has a growing population that is over 60 years old. These folks do not want the Golden Gate Park closed on Saturdays. It is already close on Sundays to vehicular traffic.

No one did outreach to those that want the Golden Gate Park open. Lobbying some of our idiotic BOS will not fly most of the time. This is one case and when I opposed this faulty legislation I got some cesspool remarks. Now the skunks can eat their words.

I hope the fanatics learn their lession once and for all.

The fanatics want special lanes on our roads. Special lanes on bridges. Special this and special that and this City has accomodated these fanatics for the longest time ever.

May be for the first time this major defeat will stop them in the tracks and make them take a hike some where far away from San Francisco.

Many of these bike fanatics talk the talk but cannot walk the walk. They appear before the various BOS Committees and make no sense when it comes to Transportation issues.

The San Francisco County Transportation Authority has given the fanatics thousands of dollars and misled these groups.

Some Supervisors have bent backwards to encourge the road fanatics that have adversely impacted Quality of Life issues because of their own selfish interests.
