Do you eat food? If you had a say, how would you change the way food is grown, processed, distributed and prepared? Please join us at the 2nd Santa Cruz County Food Forum to move toward a more sustainable and socially just food system.

THE TIME: Saturday, May 13th 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
THE PLACE: Santa Cruz Live Oak Grange, 1900 17th Ave.
THE THEME: The Future of Food in Santa Cruz County
THE PURPOSE:
Provide a place for creativity and networking
To consider the urgency and issues facing farmers, workers, and consumers
SOME OUTCOMES:
Specific actions for addressing the needs which the participants believe are vital
A stronger network of people for getting things done
THE HOSTS:
Santa Cruz County Food System Network
UC Santa Cruz Food Systems Working Group, Santa Cruz Live Oak Grange, Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems, Community Alliance of Family Farmers
THE APPROACH: The event relies upon the active participation of attendees for education and action planning. We will use a method that enables groups of all sizes to effectively deal with complex issues in short time periods. Expect to work hard and have fun. And expect the unexpected.
LOGISTICS: This event is free, and any donations will cover event costs. We will have a lunch buffet from noon to 2:00 pm. Please bring your own plate, bowl, cup and silverware. This event is accessible to people with disabilities.
