There is hope in Darfur after over 200,000 died and over 2 million displaced

by Francisco Da Costa (frandacosta [at] att.net)
There is some hope in Darfur today after the signing of the peace accord. Over 200,000 innocent people died and over 2 million displaced. Many of us after what happened in Rwandi and with deep thoughts of Cambodia and elsewhere thought that such a GENOCIDE would not take place in recent years and especially not in 2005 and 2006. However, that is exactly what we have seen the death of innocent children, women killed and rapaed, villages burnt down, and so many other horrible episodes. Suffice it to say the soon the United Nation Member Forces move in the better.

Darfur has opened our eyes to Africa and yet one more African Nation has fallen prey to genocide. The United Nations and the powerful Nations did not step up and nib the racism in Darfur at the right time with the right pressure.

We thought with Rwanda we had seen it all but Darfur has kept bleeding our hearts and we hope the recent signing of the peace accord will bring Wisdom and Compassion to the table and African Nations will not permit another genocide of this type.

This is a Clarion Call to Arab Nations that could have stoppend this genocide but looked the other way around. A clarion call to African Nations to treasure the lives of Africans and the human race.
A Clarion Call to the International Community to preserve deceny and our common humanity.

It is time the United Nation Member Nations put the fiscal package together and send in the Peace Forces as soon as possible. This is the right time for Member Nations to pay their due as only 20% of them have paid their full dues to the United Nations. That includes the United States.

As one who was born in Nairobi, Kenya I am sensitive to the situation in Darfur and especially the genocide.

I thank citizens from all over the world for helping to bring this Peace Accord by lending your voice and creating a forum to bring this issue of Darfur to the fore - thousands all over the world protested the genocide.

Thank you all for your support and we hope - sincerely hope, that the starvation and death will come to an end in the area in and around Darfur:
