“Light & Motion”
Today, art objects created with innovative materials are growing in popularity among collectors. ASPECT Gallery features such work in “Light & Motion” opening on Friday, June 2, 2006.
Watch mobiles by kinetic artist and architect, Alexandre Koulouris, move as though relying on nature to guide their path. Using metals, wooden spheres, fabric, and his natural intuition, Koulouris manages to show us the beauty of physics and geometry in motion.
Scott Reilly’s large backlit paintings on Plexi can be seen in the dining rooms of The Slanted Door and at Cesar’s Palace. His Rothko-esque oil and gypsum paintings on panels also ignite a certain glow.
Ray Lobato’s etchings represent an innovative use of fluorescent acrylic. The etchings, upright on stands, glow and change depending on the light.
