It's amazing. Protesters never, ever provoke the cops and the cops always attack viciously. Every time. In every city. The protesters are pure good. The cops are pure evil.

Statistically this is impossible. I guarantee it's some combination of truth, hyperbole and outright lies. But the protesters always make that claim. Why??

See, cops have a responsibility to not react to "provocation" if they are "provoked" and become physically abusive, even if the person is/was behaving like an asshole. There are no excuses.
Are you a cop?

There is no doubt in my mind as to which side is more provocative, arrogant, and quick to violence. That'd be cops, hands down. Violently shoving people around is their whole job description, and they obviously LIKE it. A certain percentage of protestors (young males especially) are definitely trouble makers, but cops love those guys cuz with cops we're not talking a percentage. EVERY SINGLE COP is itching to smash heads, given one proviso: the odds have to be overwhelmingly in their favor. They're bullies, which naturally means they're cowards. Faced by an opponent with equal numbers, equipment, and training, they'll tuck tail and run ki-yi-yi-ing every time, but put them 20 to 1 against an eighty-year-old peacenik in a wheelchair and they'll be jumping up and down on her head every time. It's a job that naturally attracts ultra-right fascist authority-lovers who despise any person or group who rejects their personal God, the hierarchy of state power. They love to demonstrate this hatred in front of big packs of their pals. The worst scenario is getting carved off from a demo and getting singled out this way
