Benefit for Modesto Copwatch at AK Press! Friday May 26th
Benefit for Modesto Copwatch. Community speakers, fine book selection, and film showing of "Our Oil and other Tales", Friday, May 26th!

When: 7-10pm
Where: Oakland CA, AK Press Warehouse, located at 674-A 23rd Street.
Cost: $5-? Donation, sliding scale. No one turned away for lack of funds.
Come join us at the AK Press warehouse, for a benefit for Modesto Copwatch! Community organizers will be talking about other successful Copwatch programs that have been happening in the Modesto area, and the need and reasons for community action against police brutality and harassment.
We will be a showing the new documentary, "Our Oil and Other Tales", which was filmed recently in Venezuela. This "documentary delves deep into oil and coal, examining sovereignty and self-determination through the life experiences of communities, oil workers, and indigenous people." There will also be time afterwards for discussion and debate, and also a chance to browse through the fine selection of books, videos, shirts, and other items at the AK Press warehouse.
