Students are forcibly removed from career expo

by a TG person
On April 14 2006 some students at San Francisco State University were forcibly removed from Careeer Expo, and subsequently banned from campus.

Several students expressed their dissatisfaction with the presence of military recruiters at a Career Expo held by San Francisco State University on April 14.
As a result they were forcibly removed from campus and were verbally instructed to not enter the campus or face arrest. This means they cannot go back to their dorms, or go to classes, or even fetch clothes, and if they do they can possibly get arrested.
I was told personally by the cops that if they went and talked to the Vice President of Student Affairs this could possibly be worked out.
The actions by the campus are not uncommon, but the campus should realize that if they did not provide a way or place for those students to express themselves effectively to the recruiters then the students can take it upon themselves to find a place to do it. The campus should have provided a spot in front of the career fair for those students to express themselves.
The students should realize that not everyone agrees with their beliefs and ideas.
Sergeant Odom from the Marine Corps says please don't discount the military as an option. It offers adventure, excitement and will open doors to future careers.

I was in the US Navy and enlisted right after High school and I have to admit it was the funnest and most adventurous move I ever made. Of course I didn't have to kill, BUT it was adventurous and it helped save my life by giving me some direction and confidence in my ability to do things right the first time.
