USAS students at UCD protest sweatshops in Mrak Hall.

At 2pm, over 10 students entered Mrak hall on the UCDavis campus in order to meet with the chancellor. In the past, we were informed that the chancellor rarely if ever meets with students, so we thought we would simply go to him rather than wait in vain. we did not get to his office, and sat-in for a while in a hall way, where we were asked to leave due to "fire codes." After occupying some space, we negoitated a call to the presidents office and a possible meeting with the chancellor in the near future. the police were called and came, but were not used to escort us out.

This action is partly in response to President Dynes cancelling his meeting with us (USAS students) twice and the UC administration arresting 18 students at UCBerkeley and 10 students at UCRiverside on tuesday. the message: we will not cease until the D(esignated) S(uppliers) P(rogram) is passed by the president.

at first he did not want us all to go into his office, allowing 3 only and the rest to a different room. after a while, we talked him into letting us all into the office.
