Mike Malloy To Moderate "Impeachment, Dialogue, Debate and Action"

AM 1320, Sacramento's Left Channel, welcomes Air America Radio's Mike Malloy to Sacramento. Mike Malloy, who takes left of center talk radio to the verbal limits weekday evenings on AM 1320 from 7PM to 10PM, will moderate a ground breaking Forum, "Impeachment, Dialogue, Debate and Action," on Saturday, April 29th at the Crest Theatre at 8:30PM. A $10 donation, at the door, is suggested.

Sponsored by the Progressive Caucus of the California Democratic Party, this impeachment forum coincides with the State Democratic Convention being held in Sacramento, April 28th through the 30th. The purpose of the forum is educate the public and to put pressure on the Party Leadership to sign-on to the impeachment resolution introduced by Representative John Conyers.

Confirmed panelists include California Representative Maxine Waters, Bill Goodman and Shane Kadidal from the Center for Constitutional Rights, and Betsy de la Vega, former chief federal prosecutor of the City of San Jose, and author of an upcoming book on impeachment. In addition, invited to appear on the panel are Laurence Tribe, Representative John Conyers Jr. and David Swanson, founder of afterdowningstreet.org.

Malloy will also be hosting his nationally broadcast Air America Radio program from the AM 1320 studios on Friday evening, April 28th from 7PM to 10PM.

"For nearly 20 years, Mike Malloy has been making talk radio like this: caustic, abrasive, inventive, confrontational and resolutely left of center. It has won him admirers and awards, and it has cost him jobs. At a time when the very genre of talk radio is widely seen as synonymous with strident conservatism, his career both ratifies and belies that premise. " Salon.com

A website with material on the impeachment question is maintained by the Center for Constitutional Rights in New York, directed by the Peace and Freedom Party's 1992 presidential candidate Ron Daniels. The url is http://www.ccr-ny.org/impeachment.

I'm a strong supporter of having Bush removed from office. But Impeachment won't do it. First, because the Republican Congress will never remove Bush, even as Bush plans a war with Iran to start just before the November elections to keep the Republican majority. Secondly, even if Bush is Impeached by all of the States, it is only symbolic and will not remove his Presidential powers. Ah, but a doctor or doctors could go to a judge and say that in their medical opinion Bush was a danger to others. Then the judge would have to have Bush committed to a mental institution. Dr. Justin A. Frank MD is a Psychiatrist who wrote, "Bush on the Couch: Inside the Mind of the President." I strongly recommend it. Dr. Frank uses the same technique to analyze Bush that the CIA uses for other world leaders. Dr. Frank concludes that Bush is an untreated Alcoholic who can only see things in black and white; he can not deal with critisism; and he is a paranoid megalomaniac with sadistic tendencies who resents the troops he sends to war. Dr. Frank says Bush must be removed from power because the longer Bush stays the more people will get hurt. I think our only real chance is if enough Psychiatrists and Attorneys get our support along with perhaps Physicians for Social Responsibility and members of Congress like Rep. John Conyers and Rep. Maxine Waters and we prove that Bush is really insane to the courts, who will remove him, because Congress never will. I still fell the impeachment movement should also continue to keep issues in the public eye. Feel free to contact me. Thank you for your time. Anand Keathley
