Student activist Brooke Baxter has done a series of watercolors and mixed media paintings based on the media images shown after Hurricane Katrina. The paintings explore the racism and classim in the media's portrayal of the disaster. The opening will feature musical accompaniment by Io Berreitter, a discussion on Hurricane Katrina and the media and a speech by the artist. Refreshments will be served.

*free signed art print with $5 donation to Katrina's Kids Project (a non profit art therapy organization dedicated to helping children of the gulf coast heal through art)
