5:00 p.m. - Potluck Supper
6:00 p.m. - Slideshow Presentation
Carol Cross, a local activist, went to Venezuela with Marin Interfaith Task Force in January to attend the Sixth Annual World Social Forum and see for herself what’s going on in Venezuela. What she saw is a peaceful revolution that began at the ballot box and is engaging Venezuelans at every level of society.
With an American Maryknoll missioner who has spent the last thirty years in Venezuela, Carol and thirty-two other people visited cooperatives, clinics, civic centers, cacao and coffee plantations, and squatters’ villages, talking with people at the grassroots level as well as with government officials. What she saw gives new meaning to the WSF’s slogan: A Better World Is Possible!
Free and open to all. Cosponsored by Womens International League for Peace and Freedom - Peninsula Branch and Peninsula Peace and Justice Center.
