March 24th, 8pm: Queer Acoustic Rock Event at the Femina Potens art gallery! ALL AGES!! Femina Potens presents: Elizabeth Elmore, The Casual Lust, and Butch Greenblatt. Elizabeth Elmore has been a force in indie rock since her shimmering pop/rock band Sarge garnered national press in 1998. The band's power pop music was loved by punk fans and rock critics alike. Since the break up of Sarge in 1999, Elizabeth has continued to pursue her voice, forming a new band called The Reputation, touring the country as a solo act, and finishing her law degree at Northwestern.
The Casual Lust is the long awaited musical collaboration between two of the Bay Area's finest looking people. This heartthrob duo holds no conclusions with their eclectic sound. Velvet vocals contrasted with rough undertones string you along with no intentions of letting go. They carry you to emotional revelations through lyrics that are the root of all relations. The Casual Lust is a lustful endeavor that no one can live without.
Butch Greenblatt rocks out with his acoustic guitar creating what sounds like a mix of folk, pop, and of course, ROCK. He writes his own music, plays his own tunes and you don't want to miss him, especially now that he is back in the scene as a solo artist for the first time in over two years.
Femina Potens is located at 465 South Van Ness (@ 16th st.),
cover charge is $5-$10 (sliding scale),
all ages.
